Many of the pieces Roddy is asked to make are one-off commissions and over the years he has been asked to produce a large variety, in various materials. They range from small items of jewellery to larger figurative sculptures. If you scroll down this page you will see many examples of completed pieces. If you would like to speak to him about a potential commission or an idea you have for something you would like made, please feel free to get in touch at the following e-mail address: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The two feathered badge is that of a Chief. Each of the badge masters are stored for future use as more are often required as a family grows! Most commissions come with a good graphic representation of the crest from which Roddy works. This was the case for the Talbot crest and the chief badge. Link to The Court of the Lord Lyon for information on the above crest badges Clan Duncan These pieces were done for the Armiger John Duncan and they use the crest in various sizes on a range of dress items. Inverness Twinning medal This was a silver medal Roddy designed, two of which were to be presented to the Provost of Inverness and the Mayor of Augsburg at a ceremony to commemorate 50 years as twin towns. It features the town halls of each town, framed in a handshake of friendship, and is made in solid silver. Salmon money clip If you have ever wondered how a keen fisherman keeps hold of his cash, its with a salmon money clip! This commission, from a keen fisherman, was to create a salmon wrapping round in the form of a money clip. Made in solid silver with an antique finish. Globe token This is one of three Globe Tokens done for the Shakespeare Globe Theatre in London. They were designed by a well known artist and then were given to Roddy to create the thee dimensional token. Brasenose Knocker and Pendant The above knocker and pendant were produced for a special catalogue to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Brasenose College Oxford. They are based on the knocker that sits above the door of the college. Horse This was a commission from a keen equestrian lady who wanted a silver brooch of her horse. Dragon This was a commission for a family recently returning from a long stint in Hong Kong. It was to be a dragon in the clouds, holding a pearl, the eye to be set with a small ruby. The dragon was gilded for contrast. Camel This camel had to be 10 inches in height and would form the centrepiece for an officer’s mess, commemorating their posting to Iraq. The photos show the before and after - the sculpted model and finally the finished piece in solid silver. Soldier This was an interesting commission as it was to be taken from a photo of a family member from the past. They wanted a 9 inch, solid silver figurine made as a memorial to the soldier. The three photos show the difference the polishing makes to the rough casting. |
